9 Dec
Had SDD/Prom and it was fun with Sam and Vanessa prepping and feeling girly/fab with the makeup hahahaha, but the entertainment for the night was prolly only exciting for those who won prizes / the couple games part. The music mixes or whatever you call that was too loud for me, and i seriously do not understand the deal with the "eh wah eh wah". -_- But overall it was fun seeing everybody all dressed to the tee and looking awesome :)
did not take many pictures with my phone, but here's a few ~
Me and fatfat <3
Cheryl! So prettyyyyy
With Van who seem to look good no matter what :)
With teng wahahhahaa i'm taller :) (and we no longer look like twins)
12-17 Dec
Went to Bangkok with the craziest bunch of girls i know and it was a BLAST. In retrospect, it seemed too too short, but here's to the many more years of travelling tgt, bitches <3
Day 1 - fly there and eat and eat and sleep
touched down and proceeded to hotel.
At the airport!!!
Went to an Indian pure vegetarian restaurant to eat because we didn't know how to go to anywhere else and we saw it on the way. Food was gooooood, but spicy - super spicy!!! Then, proceeded to Terminal21's supermarket to shop for groceries since there is a mini kitchen in our hotel room. We then checked into our room and settled ourselves down revelling in the awesomeness of the room. One thing is the rooms are differently laid out, even the mattress is different! After showering and getting over the excitement, we went to this Foodland Supermart which "never closes", it was super cool and we were just goofing around, haha!
Cool glass door that allows people to see the bathroom from the bed. Kinky much HAHAHA ;)
WE ALL HAVE GLASSES
I look like i just woke up and have terribly swollen eyes LOL
FAB
MIANBAO
HUGE APPLE
Day 2 - Pratunammmm; shop till you drop
After a hasty breakfast we took off to Pratunam/ Platinum Mall, which is actually a place where wholesale shops are - meaning every shop you go to will prolly have a "buy more cheaper" thing goin on. We even brought a luggage to contain the wrath of 6 girls on a shopping frenzy, hahaha! I found that the skirts i bought from the shops here were of much better quality than those from Chatuchak (of course the price is higher too, but the material is rly good).
Dresses, skirts, shoes, shorts, accessories... So many things to see and we prolly did not even cover half of the entire mall! One thing i realised is that the lower the floor, the higher the prices get. So resist the temptations until you go upstairs!!!
There was a vegetarian stall in the food court, but the food was uber spicy pls!!! We all had a hard time taking down our food but lucky for me, i ordered the milder ones. The Tomyum soup there was divine though, the best i ever had! Can't say the same about the dishes though - limited choice but they gave a good amount.
And the day goes on with us feeling more and more satisfied with every buy, but starting to feel our pockets becoming lighter...
Day 3 - New clothes + girly braids day; going to "atas" place
our OOTDs :)
Supposedly having our 8-course meal today but the place wasn't as good (vegetarian-friendly) as Yuzhen's aunt said, so we ended up eating at MBK, some semi-vegetarian place, first Pad Thai experience!!! (But it didn't taste that good...) the mango sticky rice though... <3 Weeeeee~
Walked around in the atas malls (ion equivalent or higher) and stayed at this super nice shop to try on their clothes. HOLY THEY WERE SO PRETTY, BUT PRETTY DARN EXPENSIVE TOO.
LOVE THIS DRESS SO MUCH
THIS SKIRT TOO. and long Yuan is in a jumpsuit ;)
WEEEEEEE
Then we went to Naraya where certain aunties stayed there for soooooooo long, while we chatted and ate @ Au bon pain (winkwink) :). After that we went to the night market right outside and yet another round of intense shopping!!!
Went to this place for dinner with a concept like Marche (you enter and they give you a card, then you pay whatever is logged onto the card when you leave) and had Pad Thai again! This time it was much better :) and got to try all the different curries - red, yellow, green. My favourite would be the yellow one, cause the other two are too heavily spiced.
how do i rotate this. ahem
Day 4 - CHATUCHAK AWYEAH
Have i more to say? Haha kidding, of course i have to say everything. We woke up late so we ended up reaching there around noon or later. Had street roti prata for lunch, HOLY IT WAS DAMN GOOD PLS. Buttery and sugary, downright sinful but oh so satisfying... ;) then we start our adventure!!! We went in pairs i think, me and yuan tgt (good cause we like the same kind of stuff but bad cause we're both weak at bargaining. WEAK) and off we go on our shopping spree! Happy with all the buys that day cause most were 100 baht (~S$4) and not exceeding 255 baht (~S$10) whoopeeee. The street food was good too! We tried coconut ice cream, thai iced tea ice cream, fruits, tornado potato (MY FAVE) and mango sticky rice. Overall it was an awesome experience, bought some stuff i rly love and they sell pets too - super kawaii!!! :3
You can see i'm holding my alr finished coconut ice cream :)
spastic face cause stupid soot spammed
Wanted to call it a day cause everybody was tired and some feeling unwell but we ended up dining at Terminal21 and shopping hahaha, cause the shopkeepers were too nice.
Day 5 - the day night became day; amah pants day
this is my lack of sleep face. holy
Woke up at 3pm or so cause we only fell asleep at 5am++, bridge all night. I'm surprised i didn't concuss halfway cause i'm a really really bad "ton-ner". #achievementunlocked? HAHAHA so anyway we were supposed to give the night market another visit but apparently they don't open on Mondays sob :(. So we went to Big C (like Giant in SG) and bought tons of snacks/ food we wanted to bring home. Packed everything into the luggage that night, felt super efficient cause i was allegedly the messiest person in the entire trip with everything lying around hehe. Supposedly party that night but the snacks were to MSG-filled and there was limited supply of water. Bridge till late again, but not so cause we need to catch our flight the next day!
Day 6 - time to say goodbyeeeeee :(
Felt mildly depressed at the notion of the trip coming to an end but happy cause it was really enjoyable, the whole trip :) the air just turned colder that day it was so shiok!!! Guess Bangkok feels sad about us leaving too, haha! ;p
Went to the airport and rushed to the gate only to realise our flight has been delayed (to this day i do not know why LOL) but all is well cause we just sat there and talked. It's nice to have such friends to talk about nothing with. or everything. Love them to bits
Touched down in SG and was all chirpy until my bro lied that he was at the airport but wasn't (YOU BITCH YOU) and then my dad came and my mood just went crashing down... Didn't feel like talking for the rest of the night cause of the post-trip withdrawal symptoms i guess. Lonely bed, lonely room :(
---
Anyway, after getting over all the sadness, i had to get my shit together and look for a damn job. Actually got rejected by the two most wanted jobs of the holidays - MOE teaching internship and the YFA internship. Felt rather dejected but i understand that i'm not a v worthy candidate anyways, and it all boils down to Fate right? Maybe God means for me to be doing something else in this life :)
After much hassle, i finally got my next best dream job (i have many interests, pardon me, so i may have a few "dream jobs") - working at Delcie's Desserts! :) It's like this eggless bakery catering to special dietary requirements like vegan, gluten-free, diabetic, soy-free, etc etc. It's super cool cause they have eggless macarons! YA, LIKE OMG RIGHT. I've never tried their desserts before but i rly look forward to tasting them one day (they're expensive because of the ingredients - organic and specially chosen/manufactured). I'm SO excited, starting work on 2nd Jan! Should have said an earlier date but nvm, good things are worth the wait, plus it would be a good start to the new year! :)
WEEEEEE.
I made almond cookies today as experimentation for the CNY cookies i wanna make (whether to sell or just for giving away). They turned out nice but not as good as those sold outside. I think i overbaked some of them (the oven at home tends to get too hot i think) so the charred taste covers the almond taste quite a bit. But overall it's still good! I just need to get a decent cookie cutter cause i was using this sauce container, LOL.
OOH, i also got a new lens - Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II. Have been wanting this cause it's prolly the cheapest lens around, and it is good for food photography! :)
just look at it. just look. holy
Update again soon.
Loveeeeee,
Bel :)
