Have been really busy recently, even on weekends, so i didn't have time to write even when i really really wanted to...
Anyway, a few things have happened since then... Well, i shall let the pictures do the talking ;)
First was a trip to Veganburg cause i was absolutely craving it *v*
This is my kids meal haha! Corn mayo burger with meal! (everything was mini size, even the drink - damn cute!!!) I wanted this cause of the vegan franks, and the usual burger leaves me bloated!!!
This is the burger i recommended for WB cause he cannot make good decisions - Creamy Shrooms Burger with a meal! (i love this super much, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)
This is a side-by-side comparison of the burger size, haha.
WB kept saying the kids meal is a scam, LOL, but i think the size was just right for me! :)
That weekend, i made Apple Cinnamon Cupcakes! :) (recipe modified from Martha Stewart's Apple Cupcakes: http://www.marthastewart.com/356057/apple-cupcakes)
I was so happy because they rose so beautifully :') (but then later they sank back down a bit, sobs)
The result: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and can get some crispy bits in the middle (i can't tell if it's the apple or the sugar though HAHA). Only fault was that it's a little to sweet, but the aroma of the spices is MMMMMMM~
Just last Friday, me and some of the girls went to Gokul @ Fortune Center (it's a branch) for dinner! (stupid me only took picture of my own food and forgot about others... sigh)
My Nasi Lemak! ($6.00)
The rice was good, quite fragrant but a little dry for me. The chili is different from normal nasi lemak chili, which is supposedly sweet. Somehow tastes of garlic, but they don't use garlic O: The number of peanuts on the plate was pathetic too, but overall i enjoyed it la :)
We also had Murtabak (they all said it was their favourite but i didn't try it...), Masala Dosai, Char Kway Teow (surprisingly awesome since it is an Indian food place) and satay! The curry that came with the Murtabak and the Dosai was DAMN GOOOOOOOD. *v*
Anyway, i went to the 3 sisters' house to sleep over and the next day we made Red Velvet Cookies! (supposedly red but we didn't want to put too much colouring so it ended up like the colour of a naked mole rat... LOL)
Look at the pink bowl!! - reminds me of bandung.... eeeek
We used this flowery pattern biscuit piping thing, and they turned out so pretty!!!
Btw, i was so impressed by the mixer in their home. I WANT ONE LIKE THIS!!!
After the whole exciting weekend, it was back to work... But i prepared lunch for school! :) (usually only for me but since we don't have official school lessons anymore i made a portion for WB as welllll)
Brown rice fried rice! (with bunashimeiji mushrooms, carrots, potato, corn, mock ham, edamame - i place a lot of importance on colour in my food)
Happy boy with his food!!!
I was quite surprised at how the fried rice turned out because normally you have to use leftover rice kept in a fridge to achieve the dry-ish and not sticky feel of it, but it turned out perfect though i used rice right out of the cooker! #achievementunlocked hahaha
Oh right, btw we had our Farewell Assembly last Friday too, such a bittersweet affair. But i really enjoyed myself with the class that day :')
Here are some pictures from that day :D
Pardon the blurriness ~
(i like how we all look so happy here!!!)
Ice cream ice cream weeeeee~
To everybody in 12S62, thanks for being a huge part of my memories in VJ, it definitely is a blessing to have you guys as classmates, even if we might not be that close. It's because of every single one of us that makes up what 12S62 really is. Including the people who left 12S62, the teachers that taught us, and of course, our CTs Mr Lee and Mr Wong... You will all be missed <3
The two years in VJ has taught me a lot, and i once thought i didn't enjoy myself at all in JC. But sitting in the hall listening to Mr Chan speak, and watching all the videos prepared for us, i couldn't help but tear. This two years really mean a lot to me, though i tried to deny its significance in my heart. I feel myself grow a lot from all the experiences here - from orientation to CCAs, from PW to all the tests/exams, from joining a new CCA (dance) to going back to what i'm familiar with (CO)... All these really made a huge difference in who i am now as compared to the noob back then in January.
Thanks for all the memories, guys. I'm super glad for all the friends i made and the people i met here, and hope this affinity we share won't stop here. Looking forward to a class gathering 10-20 years down the road, haha! :)
That's it from me now, take care and eat good food!!
Love,
Bel
p.s. if you would like me to post recipes of the things i bake, feel free to contact me! (or comment)
